Charlie Udom
As a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Golf 3 Certified Coach, I am passionate about helping players improve and reach their goals. 25 of the top 30 male players in the world are advised by a TPI-Certified Coach. I utilize the latest in technology including a GCQuad launch monitor with dual high-speed video cameras. With over 16 years of coaching experience and multiple success stories, I am confident I can help you take your game to the next level. What is TPI? TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) is the world's leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. For over twenty years, TPI has gathered the world’s largest technical database of the game’s top Tour professionals as well as every-day golfers. TPI collects 3D motion capture, force, pressure, launch monitor, strength, power, and movement data on every player that visits the TPI campus. Using this data, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Conversely, TPI determined how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury. This relationship is what TPI calls The Body-Swing Connection and is the foundation of all professional Certification courses offered by TPI. Some of my players’ accomplishments: - Multiple NCAA Division I Full-Ride Scholarships - USGA U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship Qualifier - OGA Junior Girls Player of the Year - OSSA 6A High School State Champion - Oregon Junior Amateur Champion - Multiple IMG Academy Junior World Championships Qualifiers - Multiple FCG Callaway World Championship Qualifiers - Multiple FCG Champions - AJGA Qualifier Champion - Multiple U.S. Kids Golf Player of the Year Awards - Multiple U.S. Kids Golf Championships - U.S. Kids World Championship Qualifier - Multiple Oregon Junior Golf Major Champions - Multiple Oregon Junior Golf Sanctioned Championships - Multiple Low Tournament Round PRs - Multiple Low Practice Round PRs - Breaking 70, 80, 90, 100 Teaches at SPARC Golf

Jim O'Keefe
I’ve always loved to play any game with a ball; tennis, basketball, football and baseball. But, it was golf that was calling me. It’s where my mind wondered. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I was thinking about my golf swing and how I should be on the golf course practicing as a fly ball was heading my way in centerfield. It was time to focus on the game of golf. I was on a mission to get better. A couple of years later, my family moved to Iowa and I started working at Des Moines Golf and Country Club. I realized with practice and some good coaching, You Can improve. I moved to Texas while in college and had the opportunity to play with guys on the PGA Tour gals on the LPGA tour, various mini tour players and highly ranked amateurs. It was there I realized that I wanted to pursue golf as my profession. My ability to connect with all golfers regardless of where they were on their journey was exciting and very natural for me. I wanted to make a career of it. I spent over a decade in the golf business and became a member of the PGA of America. My favorite days were working with players who were new to the game or anyone who had the bug and wanted to improve. I pivoted from golf to selling software in midlife while raising my family. Now my passion for golf has called me back and I’m excited to share my knowledge with golfers of all levels. Come see us at The Golf Gym and share your passion of golf or start your journey with us! Why take golf lessons in Portland?
Portland's golf scene features Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, where Tiger Woods won his third consecutive US Amateur title in 1996. The Ghost Creek Course at Pumpkin Ridge has hosted multiple USGA championships. Langdon Farms offers a well-regarded public layout in the Willamette Valley, and Reserve Vineyards features two distinct 18-hole courses in wine country.
Portland's temperate Pacific Northwest climate means soft, green fairways and courses that stay lush year-round, though rain is frequent from October through May. The Willamette Valley terrain provides rolling terrain with fir and oak-lined corridors. A Portland instructor helps you develop an all-weather game—keeping the ball low in rain, managing wet-turf lie adjustments, and building the consistency needed for Pacific Northwest conditions.
Whether you're looking for private golf lessons, beginner golf lessons, or advanced coaching, our Portland instructors cover every aspect of the game. Book a PGA-certified golf instructor in Portland through LearnGolf and get matched with a pro who fits your goals, schedule, and budget.
