Transition

Change from backswing to downswing

Pronunciation

/trænˈzɪʃ.ən/

Definition

The critical moment when the backswing ends and the downswing begins. A smooth transition allows proper sequencing of the body, with the lower body leading while the upper body and club follow. Rushing the transition is a common cause of poor shots.

Example

"His smooth transition was the key to his consistency."
